this was probably obvious but i just noticed how the original ai the marginals descended from was coded not to have a normal sense of morality but to instead be so bored that it creates things because creation was more interesting than destruction and that the current marginals still have the same trait even though the marginals seem to have developed an actual morality somewhere down the line
